Associate Editor, Trust & Estates (Virtual, Full-time)

SUMMARY
The Associate Editor, Trusts & Estates, creates content for the drafting system, member website, and substantive legal education programs, following Wealth Counsel's editorial process including strict adherence to project schedules, deadlines, and budgets. The Associate Editor assists in shaping the direction and scope for the Trust and Estates subscriptions, and works under the direction of the Editor in Chief.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for the Associate Editor: include the following (other areas of responsibility may be assigned as needed):
Creating, editing, reviewing and testing content for the Wealth Docx drafting system or other WealthCounsel document automation products, including keeping existing document sets and the related interview dialogues up to date for law, sense, and style; adding new documents and language as necessitated by changes in the law, new strategies and the expansion of the product scope.
Engaging with members and prospects to assist in determining enhancement priorities as well as how to best address pain points and opportunities
Preparing and delivering substantive legal education and legal drafting education, consulting with the Learning team in designing curriculum as a trusts and estates subject matter expert, including assisting with the preparation of course outlines and teaching courses, both live and online
Proactively identifying and implementing editorial enhancements to content, consistent with WealthCounsel style guides
Proactively identifying and implementing enhancements to contextual help and resource materials
Responding to customer questions and suggestions submitted to WealthCounsel content support, posted on WC listservs and communities, or in person at events
Occasional travel required
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Juris Doctor; LLM in taxation or estate planning preferred.
3-10 years' experience practicing Estate Planning, legal editorial, or legal education (practice preferred)
Knowledge and familiarity with Wealth Counsel products, including drafting in Wealth Docx or Business Docx
Knowledge and interest in document automation software is preferred but a willingness to learn is acceptable
An interest in the creative potential of using technology to solve lawyers' problems and overcome pain points in their practices
Experience speaking and writing about estate planning is a plus
